When the going gets tough…

I know you’ve had one those days, when things seem like they are at their worst and all you really want to do is punch a wall. One of my friends had one of those days today. Thankfully he didn’t punch a wall. I just smiled and said, “That sucks dude, I’m sorry you’re having a crappy day.” What else can I say? I have the joy of the Lord right now. I am happy. I am alive. I am getting married. So doesn’t that give the right to simply recognize his bad day? No. Absolutely not! Why else would I be in such a good mood? Because God knew that my friend would have a bad day. And now it’s my job to make it not such a bad day. My natural response is to just make jokes and fun jabs to get him to laugh. But not today. Today I am going to pray. And I am not going to stop. Today I am going to dig-in. To un-moving, un-changing faith that God is God and I am not. That he can miraculously restore joy. That he can restore hope and remove whatever pain, anger or annoyance is our hearts, because he desires for us to be happy. Did you know that? God desires for you to experience ABSOLUTE JOY! 100% over the top, knock you off your feet joy. And I love Him for that! And friend who is probably reading this right now, friend who had a crappy day—I love you! And so does God, no day can be seen as crappy when we look to His face!

I’d like to try something new with my blog right now. And I’d like your help. I want you to pray this prayer with me over the next few weeks, and wait patiently on the Lord.

Father God, you rock! Today it felt like a crappy day. And I am sorry that it took me this long to come to you. I’m sorry that I couldn’t find joy on my own. But thank you being the sacrifice that allows me to feel joy, when I can’t find it! Thank you for being the God that restores. Who takes me to the highest places. Today I choose to seek You. To seek joy. To seek hope. Today I choose You Lord! I love you. Thank you for loving me and sending your son Jesus to sacrifice himself that I might find joy! AMEN!

Making a simple decision is so hard anymore!  Where to go for lunch, what should I wear, what should I do…. the list goes on.  Some decisions are mearly about preference and some are more important.  So in a world that has seems to have zero standards and lacks the value of “truth”, how do I make decisions.  Wisdom.  Wisdom is what you need and wisdom is attainable.  Check out the study notes attached below for a bible based picture of wisdom directly out of James chapter 3.  It should help you make some “good decisions.”
